![]() Superior Perfumers Create Superior Fragrances At our Fragrance Institute, fragrances for a wide variety of products (i.e., perfumes, cosmetics, toiletries and household products) are studied and researched. The institute constantly seeks new materials, trends and information to create new formulas. We have a vast store of know-how accumulated since our founding. Fragrance preference data from in-house and outside sources is also used to develop new fragrances. In addition to testing for substantivity and stability, etc., every measure is taken to ensure that all of our fragrances strictly comply with the safety regulations of Japan and relevant international institutions.Formulating fragrances is delicate and precise work; a fusion of analytical data and our creative senses bringing into being new fragrances. The fragrance creators, known as "perfumers", mentally retain the features of thousands of materials, harmonized combinations of these materials called "accords" and basic simple formulations called "schemes". Perfumers undergo training over many years to become knowledgeable in the many fragrances on the market. They must also have a well developed artistic sense to construct balanced fragrances using components different in characteristics, precisely harmonized overall exactly as envisaged.
