Company-Wide Quality Assurance System

Allergen tests in progress

Led by the Quality Assurance Department under the direct supervision of the Company's president, T. HASEGAWA has established a comprehensive quality assurance system encompassing raw materials procurement, development, production, and sales. It has also acquired certification for global-leading quality management systems, including the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and FSSC 22000 Food Safety System Certification.
Domestic and overseas laws and regulations on flavors and fragrances are subject to integrated management by a specialist section within the Quality Assurance Department, and a comprehensive range of information is held on a database to share among relevant departments. With stringent checks to ensure that raw materials and products comply with regulations, our quality assurance system delivers safe products that can be used with confidence. At facilities engaged in multi-item manufacturing, some allergic substances are also used as raw materials. Strict controls operate in areas such as storage and equipment utilization to ensure that allergic substances are not transferred to other products or raw materials.

Safety Management and Sanitary Control at the Production Site

Raw material check-in:
Double shutters and positive pressure control to regulate airflow are used to prevent contamination with foreign bodies during material check-in and check-out.

We not only perform quality control of raw materials and products, but also carry out a range of measures to ensure that our products are manufactured safely and can be used with confidence.
To promote workplace environmental safety, we take action through the Environmental Safety Committee—a company-wide organization—to create a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. Specifically at our production facilities, where we handle aromatic chemical compounds and operate large equipment, we carry out a range of drills, safety inspections, and other safety measures on a daily basis.
In the field of sanitary control, we implement the food safety standards through active strategies for the sanitary control of facilities and equipment and the sanitary training of staff. Check-in and check-out points for raw materials and products are equipped with antechambers and pass boxes to prevent contamination with foreign bodies or insects. Meanwhile, zoning for sanitary control purposes is used to prevent cross contamination. Operational staff receive instruction at workplace safety and health meetings that cover subjects such as hygienic work clothing and personal hygiene, preparations for entering work areas (handwashing, disinfection, application of adhesive rollers) and sanitary handling of raw materials and products.
